Transistor is a game that probably could have gotten decent reviews from its style alone. But it does much more than look good. Through hypnotizing music, inspiring art, kinetic gameplay, and melancholy story, Transistor makes good on the promise of its world, with an impressive amount of restraint and imagination. In spite of its size, Transistor owns its studio’s name “Supergiant Games” and rises to greatness.
